San Jose Dance Studio. Established in 1989.
Sterling Dance Theatre has been providing quality training in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip-hop, Lyrical and Drama since 1989. We have classes for ages 3-adult and our philosophy is to provide training in an atmosphere free of stress and with a lot of encouragement and love. Many young dancers have grown up at Sterling and have gone on to become successful at all walks of life including but not limited to professional dance careers. We feel that the confidence and self-esteem a dancer learns is equally important to the actual training itself. In fact, it's priceless.
Director Darlene Thorne (former owner of the San Jose Ballet School) brings a wealth of knowledge to the studio not only in dance but also in technical theater, design and execution in all aspects of performance. Sterling Dance Theatre is an institution that focuses on proper dance technique culminating in an amazing, professional Showcase each Fall at the Santa Clara Convention Center Theater.
